Healthcare Reform: Something we could REALLY by thankful for.
We all have much to be thankful for this year. Let's take the opportunity to tell our elected leaders one more thing that we'd really be thankful for.
It isn't news that our healthcare system is broken. Costs are rising too fast, and too many people are left without coverage. But with our economy in recession, the need for healthcare reform has never been more urgent.
On Election Day we voted for change -- let's make sure the politicians know we're really serious about healthcare reform.
Sign our petition: Everyone deserves access to high qaulity, affordable healthcare.
It's Flu Season: Time for Paid Sick Days
Everyone's starting to stock up on cough drops and vitamin C. But there's an important, common-sense public health reform that our legislators can take this year to keep us healthy.
But over 40% of working people in Connecticut don't get a single paid sick days all year. They prepare our food, look after our kids, and care for the sick and elderly. When they come to work sick, their germs become our germs.
And this flu season could be more dangerous than ever because people just can't afford to take a day off without pay.
Tell your legislators: We support paid sick days so everyone in can take the time to care for themselves and their children.
